The Venomous Abyss Heroic Carry for Gold covers the complete Midnight Season 2 raid on Heroic difficulty. Located within the Vaults of Atal'Utek on the Coiled Isle, the raid contains eight encounters leading to the final battle against Ula'tek.
Heroic difficulty offers some of the most valuable weekly PvE progression in Season 2. Direct boss drops start at item level 305 and increase up to item level 315 from the final encounters. The Venomous Abyss Heroic Bosses
Your Heroic raid boost covers all eight encounters:
- Nek'zali the Soulcoiler
- Entombed Sentinels
- The Lost Explorers
- Vashnik the Malignant
- Sszorak
- The Twin Fangs
- The Coiled Altar
- Ula'tek
The middle section of the raid offers some routing flexibility, so the exact order of several encounters can vary. The service objective remains the same: all eight Heroic bosses are defeated for a complete 8/8 clear.
Venomous Abyss Heroic Loot and Item Levels
Loot is one of the most important differences between raid options, so it is important to understand exactly what you are buying. The raid does not guarantee a specific item simply because the boss is defeated. The Venomous Abyss uses the standard World of Warcraft Group Loot system, and the items that appear after each kill are determined by the game.
Heroic drops improve as you progress through the raid:
| Raid Stage | Bosses | Heroic Loot | Upgrade Track |
|---|---|---|---|
| Opening Boss | Nek'zali the Soulcoiler | 305 ilvl | Hero 1/6 |
| Bosses 2–3 | Entombed Sentinels, The Lost Explorers | 308 ilvl | Hero 2/6 |
| Bosses 4–6 | Vashnik the Malignant, Sszorak, The Twin Fangs | 311 ilvl | Hero 3/6 |
| Final Bosses | The Coiled Altar, Ula'tek | 315 ilvl | Hero 4/6 |
This makes a full Heroic clear particularly valuable for gearing because you are not limited to one loot tier. The later encounters provide higher-base-item-level rewards, while different bosses also have their own weapons, armor, trinkets, tier items, and special-effect gear.
How Group Loot Works
The Venomous Abyss uses Group Loot. When a boss dies, the game generates items from that boss's loot table based on the eligible raid group. Eligible players can then roll according to the in-game Need, Greed, Transmog, and Pass rules available for each item.
This means there are two separate things to understand:
- Boss completion is guaranteed by the selected full-clear service, but a specific piece of raid loot is not automatically guaranteed.
- Loot priority options improve your chances of receiving useful gear, but they cannot force the game to drop a particular weapon, trinket, tier token, or armor piece.
If you are buying the raid primarily for gearing, choosing the correct run and loot-priority option is more important than simply choosing the cheapest 8/8 clear.
Saved vs Unsaved Heroic Runs – What Is the Difference?
This is especially important if your main goal is loot.
Saved Run – Best for Completion and AOTC
In a Saved Heroic run, some or most members of the raid team may already have killed the bosses during the current weekly reset. Those characters can still help complete the encounter but are no longer eligible for another standard loot opportunity from the same Heroic boss that week.
Because fewer raid members may remain loot-eligible, the total amount of loot generated can be lower than in a fully unsaved raid. The main advantage is price and efficient completion.
Choose a Saved run if your priorities are:
- Full 8/8 Heroic completion;
- Ahead of the Curve: Ula'tek;
- Great Vault raid progress;
- a lower-cost weekly Heroic clear;
- loot being useful but not your primary objective.
Unsaved Run – Better for Loot Opportunities
In an Unsaved Heroic run, more members of the raid enter with fresh loot eligibility for the current weekly reset. More loot-eligible characters generally means more potential boss drops across the full raid.
The loot still follows Group Loot rules, so an Unsaved run does not mean every item automatically belongs to you. Its advantage is creating significantly more opportunities for useful items to appear and be distributed or traded among eligible players.
Choose an Unsaved run if your main objective is Heroic gearing rather than only completing the raid.
Loot Priority Options Explained
For players who want to maximize the value of a single weekly raid reset, Boost4Gold can offer additional loot-priority formats where available.
ATP – Armor Type Priority
Armor Type Priority focuses the raid around your character's armor category:
- Cloth;
- Leather;
- Mail;
- Plate.
Eligible members of the raid who can trade suitable items will prioritize matching armor drops for the customer according to the selected service conditions. Group composition can also be optimized to create more opportunities for your armor type.
ATP is a strong option if your main goal is to replace several armor slots quickly without paying for full priority on every possible item.
FTP – Full Trade Priority
Full Trade Priority is the premium gearing option. Tradeable items suitable for your selected character and specialization are prioritized to you according to the run conditions.
This can include eligible:
- armor pieces;
- weapons;
- trinkets;
- rings and necklaces;
- tier-set items and tokens;
- other useful boss drops.
Full Priority still does not guarantee a specific item. The desired item must first drop from the boss, and normal in-game loot eligibility rules still apply. What Full Priority does is reduce competition for compatible items that actually appear during the run.
Tier Set Loot in The Venomous Abyss
The Venomous Abyss is an important source of Midnight Season 2 class-set gear. Tier-set armor tokens can drop from bosses 2 through 6, giving a full 8/8 run multiple opportunities to progress toward your seasonal set bonuses.
The final boss, Ula'tek, can also drop the Slumbering Coil Curio. Unlike a standard class-specific tier token, this Curio can be exchanged for a tier-set armor piece appropriate for your class, making Ula'tek one of the raid's most valuable gearing encounters.
Tier drops remain RNG-based. For players specifically targeting a 2-piece or 4-piece set bonus, an Unsaved run combined with an appropriate loot-priority option provides much better gearing potential than a completion-only Saved run.
Heroic Raid Great Vault Rewards
The Venomous Abyss also contributes to the Raids section of the Great Vault. Raid reward choices unlock after defeating:
- 2 raid bosses – first Raid Vault slot;
- 4 raid bosses – second Raid Vault slot;
- 6 raid bosses – third Raid Vault slot.
A complete 8/8 Heroic clear therefore unlocks all three Raid slots for the week, provided the kills count toward your current Great Vault progress.
Midnight Season 2 also improves raid Vault rewards: completing Heroic raid encounters can provide Myth 1/6 Great Vault rewards, making Heroic raiding useful even for characters that are already wearing strong Hero-track equipment.
Great Vault items are awarded through the game's weekly Vault system and are separate from the direct loot received during the boost.
Ahead of the Curve: Ula'tek
Defeating Ula'tek on Heroic difficulty or higher during Midnight Season 2 awards Ahead of the Curve: Ula'tek while the seasonal achievement remains obtainable.
Because Ula'tek is the eighth and final encounter, a successful full 8/8 Heroic Venomous Abyss Boost includes the required boss kill for AOTC. You do not need to purchase a separate achievement run when completing the full Heroic raid during the eligible season.
Which Venomous Abyss Heroic Run Should You Choose?
| Your Goal | Recommended Option |
|---|---|
| 8/8 completion and AOTC at the lowest cost | Saved Run |
| More direct raid loot opportunities | Unsaved Run |
| Farm Cloth, Leather, Mail, or Plate upgrades | Armor Type Priority |
| Maximum gearing focus from one raid reset | Full Trade Priority |
Best practice: if you only need AOTC or weekly Great Vault completion, a Saved clear is normally sufficient. If your character needs multiple Heroic upgrades, choose an Unsaved run or a loot-priority package instead of paying for repeated completion-focused clears.
Venomous Abyss Heroic Boost Requirements
- A Level 90 World of Warcraft character;
- access to World of Warcraft: Midnight raid content;
- be online and ready at the confirmed raid time;
- follow basic raid-leader positioning and encounter instructions;
- for maximum loot value, your character should not already be loot-locked to the Heroic bosses included in the run.
If you have already killed one or more Venomous Abyss bosses on Heroic during the current reset, inform our team before ordering a loot-focused package. You can still participate in eligible repeat encounters on flexible Heroic difficulty, but previously defeated bosses will not provide another standard weekly loot opportunity for your character.
